Lake Tanglewood is a private club and gated community located southeast of Amarillo nestled into a corner of Palo Duro Canyon, a hidden paradise on the plains. Lake Tanglewood offers its residents the scenic beauty of the canyon; abundant wildlife ranging from the often-sighted mule deer, raccoon, and fox to the more elusive bobcat and cougar; a wide variety of birds and waterfowl; and beautiful wildflowers in the spring and summer.

Amenities, activities, and services available at Lake Tanglewood include the following:
  • The Lake - boating, skiing, jet skiing, swimming, fishing
  • Golf Course -  18 holes, driving range, club house
  • Golf Association - quarterly dinner meetings, several annual tournaments, lessons for adults and kids, volunteer labor for course improvements
  • Lake Tanglewood Community Church - an interdenominational congregation with worship services at 9 AM on Sunday, Sunday School for children and adults, several weekday Bible study groups, Good News Club for children, Youth Group for high school and junior high, Vacation Bible School 
  • Lake Tanglewood Community Library - books, books on CD, and DVDs for all ages, occasional children's activities, Spring Book Review Luncheon
  • Lions Club - dinner meetings twice a month, flag service, chili dinner and silent auction, provides funds and volunteer workers for community improvements
  • Activities Club - weekly meetings featuring programs, local home and garden tours, and occasional field trips, raises funds for community improvements
  • Community Center - available for rental for private parties, weddings, etc.
  • Harbor Point Restaurant - serving lunch and dinner, breakfast on weekends
